When Alex finds out he is Unwanted, he expects to die. That is the way of the people of Quill. Each year, all the thirteen-year-olds are labeled as Wanted, Necessary, or Unwanted. Wanteds get more schooling and train to join the Quillitary. Necessaries keep the farms running. Unwanteds are set for elimination.

It’s hard for Alex to leave behind his twin, Aaron, a Wanted, but he makes peace with his fate—until he discovers that instead of a “death farm,” what awaits him is a magical place called Artimé. There, Alex and his fellow Unwanteds are encouraged to cultivate their creative abilities and use them magically. Everything Alex has ever known changes before his eyes, and it’s a wondrous transformation.

But it’s a rare, unique occurrence for twins to be divided between Wanted and Unwanted, and as Alex and Aaron’s bond stretches across their separation, a threat arises for the survival of Artimé that will pit brother against brother in an ultimate magical battle.

I am reading The Mighty Miss Malone by Christopher Paul Curtis. It is about a girl named Deza and her family and they are very poor because it is during the great depression . Her papa goes out with some of his friends to the Mississippi River to fish but disaster strikes . Papa isn’t here and Jimmie ( Deza’s brother ) has a weapon . I really like it because every chapter a new character is introuduced and something is happening . Some people might not like that but i like it because it won’t just drag out and get boring .

The Unwanteds is my favorite book of all time and I hope you like it to. It is about a boy named Alex and his twin brother named Aaron. Alex is an Unwanted and Aaron is a Wanted.
When Alex is sent to his death Aaron is sent to the wanted University. Alex is suposedly sent to the great lake of boiling oil but instead he is sent to Artime and learns how to paint and draw but what he doesn’t know is that another unwanted wants to kill Arron and take his place as secretary to the high priest Justine.Alex sends a ‘message’ to Aaron and exposes Artime !!!!!!! This all starts a war between The Quill and Artime. What the Quill doesn’t know is that the high priest Justine learned magic and is desparatet to kill all the Unwanteds. My favorite character is Meghan Alexes friend who specializes in music and dance. Meghan’s teacher is named Miss morning and she is a professional in music and dance. Alexes teacher is Miss Octavia and she teaches Alex painting and Alex wonders why he doesn’t get sent to magical warrior training when he is an expert in everything he does. The reason he isn’t being sent up is on purpose. He has a connection with Aaron and the teachers don’t want him exposing their world. When he finds out he can make a magical 3D door that leads to Aaron’s dorm he does it immediatly. It takes him months to complete it but he falls through and completes it. That is how he starts a war.

I hope you enjoy it!

I looved this book! Like in some parts it’s sad but in every part in this book its adventurous! The cover is pretty neat too but,the book is what you really need to read. I recommend this book for people who like adventure, and i also feel like this book is mysterious because they have clues to how they find Alex for him not to be dead. I cried at that part , honestly :)

I really enjoyed reading the Unwanteds because of how I have the knowledge of the Hunger Games and Harry Potter.Quill is related to Panem in the Hunger Games.Airtime is like Hogwarts. You pretty much get how the Hunger Games and Harry Potter create the Unwanteds.I am super exited to read the Island of Silence.I hope it involves as much Harry Potter and the Hunger games as possible.I wonder if it will live up to the Unwanteds.I highly recommend reading this book if you like action and adventure.Another thing that involves the Hunger Games is that there is a an Octavia who is a stylist, and there is Miss Octavia who is a teacher.I love the suspence in the book. After I read one of the interesting chapters, I just had to read another chapter!I probably will vote for this book for the MCBA.In conclusion, the Unwanteds was amazing!I hope you will feel the same way about this book when you read it.

My two least favorite characters in The Unwanted’s were without a doubt Aaron Stowe and High Priestess Justine. Aaron Stowe just didn’t do anything that was not selfish. He blamed his brother Alex for everything including the existence of Artime’ (Which is super unfair)and actually tried to murder him (and almost succeeded) to make himself look good. High Priestess Justine was a murderer of children. That alone is enough to make me hate her but she also convinced people that if they weren’t a Wanted they would never be good enough. Also, she used magic to make people fear her so they would do as she said. People should be able to have their own thoughts and opinions. It’s not right to make people do the wrong things by influencing them with fear and magic.
